Selenite "Desert Rose," Samalayuka Desert, Chihuahua, Mexico #3

$32.00

Description

This natural Selenite “Desert Rose” from the Samalayuca Desert in Chihuahua, Mexico, is a beautiful example of gypsum crystallization formed in arid desert conditions. Over time, mineral-rich water evaporates within sandy environments, allowing selenite crystals to grow in layered, rosette-like patterns that resemble blooming roses.

Each piece is composed of thin, bladed crystals that radiate outward, often trapping fine sand within the structure. This gives the specimen its signature soft tan to sandy brown coloration and enhances its natural desert aesthetic. Specimens from the Samalayuca Desert are especially prized for their well-defined, multi-layered formations and balanced symmetry.

Features

  • Natural selenite (gypsum) rosette formation
  • Distinctive rose-like crystal structure
  • Warm, earthy tones from natural sand inclusions
  • Sourced from the well-known Samalayuca Desert locality
  • Lightweight with delicate, intricate crystal blades

Metaphysical & Collector Appeal

Desert Roses are often associated with grounding energy, clarity of mind, and gentle protection. Their unique formation makes them a standout addition to any mineral collection, display shelf, or crystal grid.

Please Note

This is a natural mineral specimen. Variations in shape, size, color, and formation are completely normal. Minor chips, surface wear, or delicate edges are expected due to the fragile, bladed crystal structure and are part of the stone’s natural character and authenticity.
