Natural Green Fluorite Dragon Head Carving #8 – 451g

This natural green fluorite dragon head carving features a beautiful range of soft mint green, seafoam green, and pale translucent green, with lighter nearly colorless areas appearing through portions of the horns, crest, and outer edges. Rather than displaying strong bands of contrasting colors, this piece has a more unified green appearance, allowing the variations in clarity and the natural internal structure of the fluorite to become the main attraction.

The stone ranges from softly cloudy to highly translucent, and brighter lighting reveals numerous internal veils, fractures, wispy inclusions, and variations in clarity beneath the polished surface. The carving has a long sculpted snout, defined eye and facial contours, sweeping horns, and a layered crest running along the back of the head. At 451 grams, this is one of the larger dragon heads we've worked through so far, and the outdoor photograph really shows how luminous that green fluorite becomes in natural sunlight.
